Capsule wardrobe
As we’ve been settling into our new reality lately, we’ve been taking the time to spring clean and it’s been quite nice to have more time to think about truly simplifying our lifestyle. Simplifying the way we live in our home, especially given the amount of time we’re spending at home, can help reduce stress and make life a little bit easier especially in the busier times.
For us, building a capsule wardrobe for each season seems to be as easy as it gets for simplifying our closet. There are many reasons why one might want to create a capsule wardrobe.. to reduce spending, for simplicity and ease, a creative challenge or environmental and social reasons, either way, it’s a personal choice and takes a level of commitment to make it work.
But we shouldn’t feel the pressure to make it perfect. It can evolve throughout the season. We are excited to share Together Segal’s capsule wardrobe for spring and hope this helps to inspire those wanting to create one as well.
How a capsule wardrobe works:
A capsule wardrobe is “a mini wardrobe made up of versatile and essential pieces that you love to wear.” Think wardrobe essentials for everyday wear that you can mix and match or wear over and over.
Each season, you clear your closet except for a set number of pieces to be in your capsule wardrobe. We don’t believe there is a golden number of items. The number can be based on each individual’s wardrobe and can include items that you already own and love as well new pieces to help round out your collection.
Think about pieces that fit your lifestyle, make you feel good and how you like to spend your time. At the end of the day, you want your wardrobe to reflect you, what you love, and include the brands you love to support.
Benefits to a capsule wardrobe - more time and energy to focus on things that matter most to you along with saving money.
